Calaveras Repertory Theatre presents
Waiting for Godot
by Samuel Beckett
directed by John Ribovich
May 2-26, 2002
Calaveras Repertory Theatre presents Samuel
Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Grotesquely beautiful and utterly
absorbing - a brilliant, bitter, comic portrait of the dogged resilience of
man's spirit in the face of little hope. Two dilapidated bums wait for Godot,
a mysterious figure who will either explain their interminable
insignificance or put an end to it, as they confront that essential human
dilemma: "I can’t go on! I must go on." A parable for our time, even more
relevant today than when it took the theatrical world by storm almost fifty
years ago. CRT once again brings together a stellar cast of professional
actors. Ron Evans (Pa Joad in The Grapes of Wrath at TheatreWorks)
plays Vladimir. Dean Goodman award winner Peter Schmuckal is Estragon, and
Mark Rafael Truitt (film: "Titanic"; television: "Wings") is Pozzo.
The San Jose Mercury News calls CRT's productions
"vibrant" and "highly accessible." The Milpitas Post describes the company's
work as "delightful" and "broadly appealing." Callboard Magazine says
Calaveras Rep is "a young company possessing a bright future".

with performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 PM, and Sundays at
